If you prefer least crowded trekking area rather than the main stream route, we would recommend you to take Tilicho Lake Trekking.
Tilicho is the highest lake in the world which exists at 4919m altitude. Tilicho Lake is fed by snow melts from Annapurna Mountain and Thorong La Pass. Tilicho is considered sacred among Hindus. Although it is a bit difficult trek, it rewards us with views of Thar goats and mountain views. The area is also popular as the habitat of snow leopard.
Tilicho Lake trekking itinerary usually lasts for 18-days. Tilicho trek starts from Besisahar which is the district headquarter of Lamjung district. Trek progresses along gushing Marsyangdi River and allows enthralling views of Manaslu, Himalchuli and other mountains.
First half of Tilicho trekking route follows the same path as Round Annapurna trekking. Leaving the main trail from Manang, we will walk through Khangsar village to Tilicho Lake. Along with opportunity of witnessing the serene lake, this trek allows walk through rhododendron forest and takes you through High Pass of Thorong La to Muktinath Temple.
This is a difficult yet rewarding trek. Contact us soon for attractive offer on Tilicho Lake trek cost.
